Chair: Peggy Holtzman, MSW, CSW
Committee Members: Gail Hunt, LCSW, BCD; Deb Kennard, MS, LLP

The Clinician Support Program (CSP) was developed by EMDRIA to support our members who worked with those affected by the September 11 attacks on America. The Program’s purpose has since been broadened to support all EMDRIA members working in the area of disaster relief. It is suggested that members interested in serving on this committee have some experience working with disaster relief. The CSP Committee is charged with the responsibility of finding ways to provide resources and offer support and consultation for our members who provide direct service to victims or helpers in the face of a disaster.

Resources and support include:

1. Peer-support and no-fee consultation groups, conducted by an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, can provide information and offer a place to share with and learn from colleagues who are doing similar things in similar situations;
2. Information about appropriate resources and programs, such as the EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Program, provided by the EMDRIA website and Regional Coordinators;
3. References to written materials about such topics as vicarious traumatization, stress-response symptoms, and self-care for the provider; and Clinician Support Listserv now available for EMDRIA members.
